AI predicts Kelechi Iheanacho expected goal returns at Sevilla ahead of next season

An artificial intelligence predictor, Olocip Labs has predicted that Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho will register 10-12 goal contributions at Sevilla next season, Soccernet.ng reports.

After a seven-year stint at Leicester City, Iheanacho left the club at the expiration of his contract and completed a free transfer to former UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla last week.

The Super Eagles star had some impressive performances at the King Power Stadium, but under coach Enzo Maresca, his game time reduced drastically last season.

Iheanacho’s transfer to Sevilla is a new experience for him, as it will be the first time he will be playing for a club outside England. However, the former Manchester City man could flourish in the Spanish game because it fits his playing style. Iheanacho would even get more game time, as he will likely be the first-choice striker following the departure of Youssef En Nesyri.

Ahead of the new campaign, an AI tool from Olocip Labs has predicted Iheanacho’s potential goal returns. It did this by analyzing his previous statistics, his strengths and weaknesses, and juxtaposing them with other strikers in Laliga.

Olocip Labs predicted that Iheanacho will score 8-10 goals and 2-3 assists in Laliga next season. This means that the Nigerian striker will average 0.26 goals per 90 minutes.

With Iheanacho’s quality, these are numbers that he should be able to put up, barring any serious injury. Laliga is set to resume on August 15, and Sevilla will play Las Palmas in their opening game of the campaign. Iheanacho will hope to be fully integrated into the team by then so he can start delivering the goods for his next club.
