Everton do not need to sell Jarrad Branthwaite amid fresh PSR breach reports, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor was asked on X on 12 August whether the recent worries surrounding rule breaches would force the Toffees into selling their star asset.

However, given how the window has transpired and the sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa, the club are understood to be in a comfortable position.

Everton cannot afford to lose Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United had their chance to sign Branthwaite in July and they failed to meet the Toffees’ expectations in terms of the transfer fee. [Dharmesh Sheth]

No other club came nearly as close to making a move for the England international and Sean Dyche will already have him in his plans for the upcoming season.

Had the 21-year-old been leaving, Dyche would have asked the club to sign a quality replacement and integrated him into the first team.

Now, it’s too late as pre-season is done and the new season begins on the coming weekend.

The chances of Branthwaite staying at Goodison Park are higher than they were a month ago and to be fair to the centre-back, he has not thrown his toys out of the pram to demand an exit.

Had he been desperate to leave the club, he would’ve demanded an exit a lot earlier and things would’ve been different, but he has not shown any signs of not being committed to the project.
