Alan Myers shares percentage likelihood of Textor takeover at Everton as 'Twist' claim made

Alan Myers cannot rule out a takeover “twist” as John Textor pushes to purchase Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

The Toffees have been burned twice before as 777 Partners and the Friedkin Group’s takeover attempts spiralled into collapse, with the Crystal Palace co-owner now attempting to sell his shares at Selhurst Park.

Textor has recently shared his opinion on the situation, suggesting that there is a “90 per cent chance” of completing his purchase from Farhad Moshiri [Le Progres].

Asked about his gut feeling via X on Thursday (12 September), journalist Myers replied: “I think it’s positivity. I certainly wouldn’t rule out a twist (as [Textor] alluded to himself).

“TFG and A-Cap still have a big say in things so let’s see. I think it’s his if he can do what he needs to do.”

Despite this, Myers still believes there is a “70 per cent chance” that a deal is completed [X].

Everton fans warned over takeover twist as John Textor closes in

Given the whole situation with 777 Partners, it is completely understandable to see the scepticism from Toffees fans as Textor closes in on a deal to sell his shares at Selhurst Park.

It is understood that the Raine Group, an investment and merchant bank dealing with the sale on Textor’s behalf, are edging closer to finding a buyer for his 45 per cent shareholdings in Palace, which will facilitate his purchasing at Goodison Park [Daily Mail].

The passionate fans on Merseyside are desperate to know their club is safe to fight another day, and the 58-year-old represents a chance for them to hit the reset button.

Sean Dyche’s side look to be suffering on the pitch after the opening few matches of the season, and while there should be no excuse, uncertainty over the club’s future could never be helpful.

Very few fans can handle the suspense, and even fewer will be able to deal with the stress if Textor’s takeover attempt falls through, so it is essential a deal is struck as soon as possible.

In other Everton news, Sean Dyche held transfer talks with a Pogba-like player before moving elsewhere.
