Alex Crook moots 'Big offer' for Jarrad Branthwaite in new Everton transfer verdict today

Jarrad Branthwaite is likely set for a “big offer” in the future to leave Everton, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT chief football correspondent spoke live on the radio channel [30 August, 18:33] insisting that it is difficult knowing you will be in a “struggling” team.

Several bids arrived on the table from Manchester United [GMS] for Branthwaite through the window, but the club stood firm after making other key sales.

Sharing the latest on the situation, Crook said: “I think he’ll get a big offer at some point.

“It’s difficult when it looks like you’re going to be in a struggling team.”

Everton still have Jarrad Branthwaite – for now

Everton did well to keep hold of Branthwaite – and it was rather refreshing to see, as they demanded an £80million sum [Ben Jacobs] equal to what Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire.

The defender, whilst open to talks, has seemed content to stay with Sean Dyche’s side, although has not yet played this season after sustaining a groin injury.

Branthwaite’s last match was his England debut, brought on against Bosnia & Herzegovina in a 3-0 win and clean sheet at St. James’ Park.

His international bow was earned after playing an integral role in Dyche’s team navigating – eventually – harmlessly away from concerns of the drop.

United and potentially others will undoubtedly continue to monitor the £1m signing from Carlisle United, who at the tender age of 22 is expected to be an England regular for years to come.
