Alexis Mac Allister posts positive update on Instagram amid Liverpool injury concern

Alexis Mac Allister has been a revelation since moving to Liverpool and is now playing a big part in Arne Slot’s plans at Anfield.

Alexis Mac Allister completed an eye-catching £35m move to Liverpool back in the summer of last year.

Since joining the Argentine has made 49 appearances with seven goals and seven assists to show, which includes a couple of absolute screamers.

The Reds will be pleased that the midfielder ended up choosing them having seen how his time has gone so far, as Manchester United made a late move to try and steal Mac Allister.

However, the Reds have been dealt a potential injury worry as it’s been claimed that Mac Allister is struggling with the load on his muscles and is in pain whilst away with Argentina right now.

But, he has provided a bit of an update recently himself on his Instagram which may help ease some of those fears…

With Curtis Jones already struggling with an injury this season and the Argentine playing a key part up until now, Arne Slot really won’t want anything to affect the momentum his side have built up.

Although there’s nothing clear that’s been said by Alexis Mac Allister on his Instagram in terms of his injury in particular, he has dropped a bit of a positive update on his current situation.

He states.

‘Working hard and as a team, as always when we put on the national team. Everything ready for tomorrow. ????????’

Argentina are set to take on Chile tomorrow in a World Cup Qualifier, and he certainly feels like he’s ready to have some kind of impact on the game.

What other midfield options do Liverpool have?

Arne Slot wanted to sign Martin Zubimendi in the summer transfer window which suggests that he feels the club don’t have enough quality.

The likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have been preferred as the midfield three, and there aren’t too many options outside of them.

Wataru Endo failed to impress at times last season, Curtis Jones has been nursing an injury so far this season and Harvey Elliott is the only other player who could potentially drop into the middle.

Mac Allister offers Slot the perfect balance of attacking and defending with the ability to harass the opponents and implement the Dutchman’s press, as well as creating and popping up with a goal.
