Ange Postecoglou is coming under a bit of pressure but that did not stop him doing something no other Premier League manager has managed this term.
Tottenham scored five goals in the first half for the first time in a Premier League match as they ran riot at St Mary’s. Postecoglou’s team took their foot off the gas in the second 45 minutes with two massive fixtures facing them this week as they host Manchester United and Liverpool.
But against the Saints, Postecoglou saw his Tottenham team win for the first time in six matches and he did so by doing something which Daniel Levy will love.

Ange Postecoglou became the first Premier League manager this season to have four teenagers on the pitch at the same time. Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Will Lankshear and Alfie Dorrington were the quartet of teenagers who all shared the pitch together at St Mary’s.
Reports suggested that Tottenham were backing Postecoglou to develop a younger squad having signed four teenagers last summer. He certainly showed that he could be the right man to trust to successfully bed in the club’s young talents as continues to give them many opportunities.
Meanwhile, academy stars Callum Olusesi, Maeson King and Malachi Hardy were named on the bench. Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert are the other two youngsters which he has played this season, although the duo are currently unavailable.
Which other Tottenham teenagers could Ange Postecoglou use?
Luca Williams-Barnett tops the list of players who could be up next to feature under the 59-year-old given his record for Spurs’ Under-18s. The 16-year-old has ten goals in ten games for the academy this term and has been rewarded by being included in several first-team squads.
Due to arrive in the summer of 2025, Luka Vuskovic is quickly announcing himself as one of the best young talents in Europe. Tottenham paid £12 million to sign Vuskovic and he has impressed on loan in the Belgian Pro League club with Westerlo.
Jun’ai Byfield is another top defender coming through the ranks at Hotspur Way but given he is only 15, it could be a while before we see him feature for the first team.
Yang Min-hyeok is the other teenager to look out for when he joins the Lilywhites in January. Yang wants to make an immediate impact at Spurs and he will be available for selection when the next transfer window opens.
