Archie Gray set for Tottenham exit, negotiations have already started

Tottenham youngster Archie Gray could move to Sevilla on loan for the second half of the 2024/25 season, according to Mucho Deporte.

The Spanish outlet reported via their website on 22 October that although a deal wouldn’t be “simple” to complete, the La Liga outfit have already begun to “work on the operation”.

The report does, however, state that the midfielder can “go on the market” in January so a deal could well be struck.

Tottenham should let Archie Gray move to Sevilla

Gray’s summer move to Tottenham wasn’t one that Leeds United wanted to sanction. The 18-year-old had just played his first season in senior football and was one of the club’s stand-out players despite regularly being used out of position.

This term, he’s played just 33 minutes of Premier League football and even though Ange Postecoglou has used the youngster in the Carabao Cup if they want him to develop further, Gray needs to play regular football.

The midfielder can play in multiple positions across the pitch and could potentially find himself as the new Ben Davies of the team in terms of being able to play in multiple roles.

It’s also well-documented that Gray’s summer transfer was one with the future in mind and, realistically, a move to Sevilla is exactly what the former Leeds ace needs to prove his worth to Tottenham.

Of course, this is all speculation at the moment and there’s plenty of time for things to change before January but, for now, a loan move to Sevilla seems to make a lot of sense.
