Arsenal fans have taken to social media to discuss which player Mikel Arteta was referring to as injured in his press conference ahead of their League Cup tie against Bolton.
Arteta, 42, discussed many things in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday (September 24) with his side’s antics in their 2-2 draw against Man City a hot topic amongst attending journalists.
The Spanish manager also gave updates on injured players, including captain Martin Odegaard and defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.
When asked about how many players are currently struggling with injuries, Arteta said, “I always prefer the facts than words or supposing things. Let’s see who’s available tomorrow and then we can talk about dark arts, or these things.
“Unfortunately, yes, there will be a few players not available. Tomorrow you will find out.
When asked about whether any players picked up a serious injury in the draw with Man City on Sunday (September 22), he added, “We have to wait. One of them.”
Four Arsenal players (Riccardo Calafiori, David Raya, Jurrien Timber, and Gabriel Martinelli) had to receive treatment from their physios during the game against City.
Although it’s yet to be confirmed, fans now believe Timber, 23, is the player Arteta was referring to and is set to be sidelined.

The left-back missed 53 games for club and country last season after tearing his ACL during his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest last August.
He has since returned to play 359 minutes across Arsenal’s five league games so far this season, but fans now believe he may be set for another lengthy spell out.
