Barcelona face one more obstacle before sealing Dani Olmo deal

Barcelona appear to have wrapped up a deal for Dani Olmo today, after the RB Leipzig returned to the Catalan capital with Sporting Director Deco, his agents and father. There is one final hurdle to the deal.

The Blaugrana will pay €55m for Olmo plus €7m in variables according to Fabrizio Romano, and has already flown back to Barcelona to complete the deal, after talks were concluded one Tuesday with Leipzig.

Diario AS detail that Olmo will undergo his medical on Thursday, which is the final hurdle to the deal. While it is stated they have no doubts that Olmo will pass it, they do say that extra care will be taken, and his tests will be exhaustive. That is due to his injury record.

He recovered from a complicated shoulder injury that required surgery six months ago, while he has also had consistent issues with his right knee in recent years. Olmo is due to sign a six-year contract, but he will pass the medical first, and possibly be presented this week. If all goes to plan, he will train with Barcelona on Saturday, and could make his debut on Monday during the Gamper trophy against Monaco.
