Bardell shares Dyche 'Danger' verdict after what he said about Everton fans

Dan Bardell believes Sean Dyche is not at any risk of being sacked by Everton, despite his comments criticising fans against Brighton.

The Toffees boss wasn’t pleased to see supporters leave Goodison Park early in their 3-0 defeat to the Seagulls on the Premier League opening weekend.

In his post-match interview with Match of the Day on 17 August, Dyche said: “It feels like reality at this football club. If you’re not doing well, that’s what happens.”

This has not gone down well with fans, but Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes the manager’s future is safe for now.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “I think Everton fans are smart enough to realise that what the club needs right now is Sean Dyche.

This is a big season for Everton and the margins are tight so a few bad results could find them down in another basement battle.

They won’t want that but if it happens he is the right manager to steer them clear.

When a manager criticises or questions the fans it never goes well and fans have the right to leave if they want to.

I don’t think Dyche is in any danger yet but that wasn’t brilliant from him.

Sean Dyche slammed for Everton comments after Brighton

The defeat to Brighton was hugely disappointing considering fans had come into the season with high expectations after a positive end to the last campaign.

Goodison was left silenced by Brighton after going three goals down, not helped by Ashley Young being sent off for a last-man foul.

With the result all but certain, supporters started making way for the exits at Goodison which left the stadium half empty by the full-time whistle.

It didn’t go down well with Dyche but realistically the game was done and fans are free to do as they please.

The atmosphere is always there and will return for their next Premier League home clash against Bournemouth on 31 August.
