Alasdair Lamont believes Philippe Clement is being kept in his job at Rangers due to the form his team have shown in the Europa League this season.
The Ibrox outfit currently sit 10th in the Europa League table and have just one loss to their name thus far.
Writing for the BBC Sport website (27 November), journalist Lamont shared why Vaclav Cerny could also be having a say in the Belgian keeping his role.
“I am struggling to find a Rangers supporter still making a case for Clement to be given more time,” he wrote.
“Were it not for Vaclav Cerny he might already be gone. Cerny and the Europa League form may be the difference between Rangers once again pulling the plug on a manager and deciding to persist with the Belgian’s project.”

The future of Clement has been something that has been hanging over Ibrox for what seems like forever.
There’s been a constant battle between the Rangers board and fans regarding what the future should hold for the Belgian, with both clearly having opposing opinions.
Of course, his Europa League form has no doubt helped the Belgian keep his role, but the fact that the Gers also likely can’t afford to part ways with him will also have something to do with it.
There have been a handful of times this term when the Gers have proven their worth and have shown that they compete with some elite-level teams, but those performances seem to come too far apart from one another.
Only time will tell what the future holds but if Rangers fail to win or even just put up a good showing, it’s hard to see a future for Clement at Rangers.
