BBC man names Rangers ace and Celtic trio in SPFL Team of the Week

Rangers attacker Tom Lawrence along with Celtic trio Kasper Schmeichel, Liam Scales and Arne Engels have been named in Jonathan Sutherland’s Team of the Week.

The BBC took to X to share the eleven laid out by their presenter with each of the top three sides picking up wins over the recently concluded gameweek.

Lawrence scored the winning goal as Philippe Clement’s side beat Dundee United 1-0.

Rangers have to close the gap on Celtic quickly

The inclusion of Lawrence alongside Celtic players in Sutherland’s Team of the Week highlights the competitive edge within the Scottish Premiership, yet it also underscores the performance gap between the two Old Firm sides.

Despite the Welshman’s goal against Dundee United, which narrowed the points deficit, the five-point gap at this juncture of the season is significant.
