Big money Chelsea signing wants to leave the club due to Enzo Maresca’s preference

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is preparing to take charge of the Blues after being appointed by the Premier League club.

The Blues parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season after he guided them to a sixth place finish in the Premier League.

Changes are expected at Stamford Bridge with a number of players to leave the club as they try to get their finances in order.

Among the players who could leave, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, could also leave the club, according to London World.

The report mentioned that the Spanish goalkeeper will only return to Stamford Bridge if he is given a fair chance to fight for his position in the team.

A source told London World:

“He is expected to hold talks with the manager but he has one year left on his deal and doesn’t want to spend it just being on the bench in London.

“The entire case with Madrid is not closed but it all depends on what Chelsea want to do and of course how the talks with the new manager go because normally in football when there is a new boss everyone gets a fresh start.”

It looks highly unlikely that Kepa would start for Chelsea next season as the new manager admires Robert Sanchez.

Kepa Arrizabalaga Chelsea Premier League
Kepa Arrizabalaga seems unlikely to stay at Chelsea.

Reiable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported of Chelsea’s Italian manager’s admiration for Sanchez.

Maresca is looking forward to work with the former Brighton goalkeeper and he feels that the goalkeeper can take his game to the next level under his guidance.

In light of the latest development, it is unlikely to see Kepa being given a starting role next season.

Chelsea are preparing a major squad overhaul

The Blues would be looking to cash in on him as his contract is set to expire next year.

Along with Kepa, Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr are likely to be shown the exit door at the club this summer.

Chelsea are looking to generate funds after their heavy spending in the recent windows and in order to avoid breaking Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, they have to sell players in the upcoming transfer window.
