Celtic Sources: Significant Nicolas Kuhn update tonight

Celtic will only sell Nicolas Kuhn for a “pretty hefty fee” in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that neither Brendan Rodgers nor the Celtic board are willing to lose the 24-year-old right now.

The Scottish giants signed Kuhn last January from Austria Vienna for only £3million, and he is now being seen as a “real bargain” due to his performances so far.

The right winger has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 17 performances in all competitions this season, as he has become a crucial member of the squad.

Well-placed sources have confirmed to Football Insider that there is interest in Kuhn from England, with Brentford and Fulham monitoring his progress.

Interest in the winger is expected to increase during the summer transfer window, which will place pressure on the current Scottish Premiership champions.

Celtic have showcased they are willing to hold out for significant fees in the past for top players who are in demand.

This past summer the club sold Matt O’Riley to Brighton for £25million, which was a club-record fee, while they also earned big money from the sale of Kieran Tierney.

Right now Kuhn is being viewed as a “key man” in Rodgers’ side and the club aren’t interested in selling him if they don’t need to.

The Hoops currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership and have secured a place in the Scottish League Cup final.

Meanwhile in Europe, Rodgers’ side are 15th in the Champions League table.
