Celtic transfer update confirmed as Premier League clubs chase Nicolas Kuhn

Nicolas Kuhn has no intention of leaving Celtic anytime soon, the winger’s agent Christian Nerlinger has confirmed.

The former Germany youth international joined the Scottish Champions for £3million back in January, arriving from Rapid Vienna.

He has since become a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, which has led to speculation around his future. Sky Sports in Germany have reported both Fulham and Brentford as after the 24-year-old.

However, Nerlinger – who spent three years as a player with The Bhoys’ bitter rivals Rangers – has insisted that Kuhn will not be going anywhere soon.

He told The Daily Record: “The speculation is not an issue for us. We have found a home for Nicolas at Celtic. We are not, never, walking out on Celtic without being together with the club because this success story was created by Celtic.

“I know from my time at Rangers it was very hard to get something out of the television rights, so of course they need to find these success stories – identify a player, buy him for £3million and sell him for £20-£25million – but we will do everything together with the club.”

There comments from Nerlinger do seem to have put the Hoops in the driving seat when it comes to the future of one of their key players.

It seems as though the winger is clearly settled in Glasgow, and so will not be pushing for a move away from Parkhead.

Given there are still more than four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, that means there should be absolutely no pressure on Celtic to sell in the near future.

As a result, they are in a strong position to demand what they want from the likes of Fulham or Brentford come January.

The winger’s recent dismantling of RB Leipzig in the Champions League showed how good he can be, and vital he is to the Scottish champions.

It will therefore be a major boost to everyone around the club to know that this is how the current situation looks when it comes to the winger.

With that in mind, Celtic can now surely look forward to the January transfer window without having to worry about the future of one of their more valuable assets.
