Keith Hackett has criticised Andy Madley for his performance officiating Saturday’s (23 November) Premier League game between Chelsea and Leicester City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former PGMOL chief, ex-FIFA, and Premier League referee admitted it “wasn’t Andy Madley’s finest game.”
Madley ultimately awarded Ndidi with a yellow card for the challenge, but keeping 11 men on the pitch wasn’t enough to inspire the Foxes as they lost 2-1.
Keith Hackett wasn’t impressed by Andy Madley during the Chelsea game
Hackett told Football Insider, “This wasn’t Andy Madley’s finest game.
“When you look at the overall performance, it wasn’t outstanding.
“However, the comments by managers are unhelpful.
“They’re allowed to go into a referee’s room 30 minutes after a game and express concerns.
“But I wonder in the time if he’d have brought up the [Wilfred] Ndidi challenge that should have resulted in a sending off.”
