Chris Jack moots new 'Hectic' Rangers transfer period ahead of August 30

Rangers must be set for a “hectic” period of transfers in and out of Ibrox ahead of the 30 August deadline, Chris Jack has said.

Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen have been working tirelessly to rebuild the squad at Ibrox over the summer, with the Gers adding eight players ahead of the new season.

The transfer window has seen John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Robbie McCrorie, Sam Lammers, Connor Goldson and Jose Cifuentes all depart, yet Jack still expects more deals to be done before the window closes.

Writing via The Rangers Review on Thursday (15 August), Jack wrote: “In time, Rangers may well be better.

“The transfer window closes on August 30 and Clement and Nils Koppen, the director of football recruitment, must be gearing up for a hectic period of ins and outs as chairman John Bennett prepares to sign off on the final phase of this rebuild.”

Rangers to complete more signings before August 30?

After being controversially knocked out of Champions League qualification rounds by Dynamo Kyiv, many fans believe that the squad overhaul is far from being done at Ibrox.

The manager has worked closely with Koppen to bring in players to fit his style of football, yet the results on the pitch still be extremely underwhelming.

While the Gers will still be playing in Europe, being demoted to the Europa League following their loss at Hampden Park on Tuesday 13 August, the financial gains are nowhere near as beneficial as the Champions League.

This would suggest that if Clement wants to bring in more players before the transfer window shuts, he will need to offload some of his current wantaway stars to fund new deals.

Todd Cantwell is the perfect example, having shared his desire to leave the club, with the player now training away from the first team [Official X account]. However, there has been little movement on his exit.

The clock is ticking for Clement and his team.
