Club confident Everton star will complete summer transfer before 30 June - report

Manchester United are confident they will confirm the signing of Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite before July, according to Football Transfers.

The outlet reported on its website on Friday (14 June) that whilst some have suggested the Red Devils don’t want to match the Blues’ asking price, it is understood this is only a matter of agreeing add-ons and clauses.

Branthwaite has verbally agreed terms to make the move to Old Trafford this summer and there is an expectation that the deal with be finalised before 30 June which is the final days of the Premier League’s financial year.

Sean Dyche’s side are understood to be willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old in the region of £50million to £60million but add-ons and clauses would see the overall package rise closer to £65million.

It seems as though everyone and anyone has heard something different about Manchester United’s stance on this deal as some believe they have been put off by the price tag while others suggest it hasn’t changed anything.

Ultimately, the Blues have shown no interest in dropping their asking price, even with speculation around their PSR position so it seems likely United will simply have to cough up if they want this deal done before the end of the month.

The sooner this deal is completed, the better it will be for Dyche’s side as the Everton boss will then be able to begin putting plans in place for potential incomings in the summer transfer window as Branthwaite will need to be replaced.

There isn’t loads of money to be spent at Goodison Park currently as this takeover situation continues to rumble on in the background so any money received for the centre-back’s signature will have to be reinvested wisely.
