Aaron Lennon and Gabby Agbonlahor both agree that Everton could be relegated from the Premier League after a poor start to the season.

The Toffees have suffered three defeats to begin the campaign with the latest seeing Bournemouth secure a late comeback from 2-0 down to take the points.

This has seen Lennon and Agbonlahor speak out live on talkSPORT on 12 September (9:40am) over their future in the division.

Former Everton man Lennon admitted: “This isn’t a great start and I’m worried for them this season.

“When you see teams, they’ve been around the bottom for a few seasons now, they’ve been there too often and I look at the squad now and I don’t think it’s that strong and the start they’ve got off to, it could be a concerning time for them.

Agbonlahor was in agreement, comparing Sean Dyche’s side to their league rivals: “You just look at other teams that are getting better. Nottingham Forest are looking good, Fulham are looking good.

“You look at Everton, they’ve lost Onana and haven’t really replaced him, you talk about quality. Other teams are starting to look better and better.”

There was optimism moving into a new Premier League season after Dyche dragged his side to a positive finish last campaign.

The Toffees were hampered by two points deductions but were still able to ultimately finish comfortably above the relegation zone in the end.

However, the mood has been dampened by three straight defeats to start the season, a run that has understandably led to a huge amount of frustration among the fanbase.

Criticism has been levelled at the manager but throwing a 2-0 lead when leading in the 87th minute at the end of the game is on the players as much as anyone.

There is plenty of quality and senior heads in the squad at Goodison Park and it is on them to grab everyone else and show them the way.

Right now there is no need to panic as there are still 35 games to go but survival is paramount with the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium move coming up.
