'Crazy' - Wenham shocked by what has happened to Crystal Palace star ahead of Tottenham clash

John Wenham is surprised by Marc Guéhi’s poor form this season as Tottenham prepare to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday (27 October).

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has backed Dominic Solanke to get on the scoresheet against the Eagles.

Palace have yet to win a Premier League game this season while Spurs will arrive in South London full of confidence having won seven of their last eight matches.

As a result, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is confident of another three points at Selhurst Park.

“Guéhi has seemingly downed tools since that failed transfer to Newcastle United,” Wenham said.

“He didn’t even get in the last England squad, which is crazy when you consider he started every game at the Euros.

“I don’t want the whole Doctor Tottenham thing to re-emerge and suddenly Guéhi and Palace are flying on Sunday. However, I don’t think that’s going to happen.

“I’m quite confident we will go there, and we’ll win. I’m hopeful that Solanke will grab another goal because he certainly deserved one against West Ham.”

On paper, Spurs should be the favourites at Selhurst Park. They will likely be without Son Heung-min (via Spurs’ official website, 25 October), which could make things difficult

However, the travelling supporters will still be expecting three points, and will also be hopeful of seeing Mikey Moore start the match in place of Son.

It is no secret that Palace have struggled this season, currently sitting 18th in the table without a win. Therefore, Solanke will surely be licking his lips.

Playing a team low on confidence is the perfect opportunity for him to get back among the goals.
