Dan Bardell: Rangers line up top target to ease Ibrox concern ahead of EL

Dan Bardell believes Rangers will be handed a boost by signing Nedim Bajrami from Sassuolo on Deadline Day.

Football Scotland reported on 30 August that the Albania international is on the verge of signing for the Gers on the final day of the summer window.

Bajrami is believed to be the Gers top transfer target [Daily Record] and is keen to move to Ibrox.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks the 25-year-old’s experience on the continent will be a boost to Philippe Clement’s squad.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “Rangers have got a European campaign ahead and will be fighting on all fronts so need some experienced heads.

“He’ll add to that having played in a top-quality league for a few years now. It always felt like Rangers needed to do something this window.

“It does seem like they’re still a bit short but Bajrami will ease concern and help them in the midfield area.“

The Light Blues appear to have made the Albanian their main target to bring in before the transfer window slams shut.

Clement has been limited with his spending despite losing a whole host of first-team regulars throughout the summer.

Barjrami has consistent experience playing in Italy with Sassuolo, floating between the Serie A and B throughout the years.

This experience playing in Italy could prove to serve him well if he is to complete a move to Ibrox before the transfer deadline.

His arrival could give the whole club a boost ahead of what is set to be a tough season.
