Dan Bardell shares his PSR understanding, 'big win' elsewhere not great for Everton

Dan Bardell believes Everton have reason to be frustrated after Leicester City exploited a loophole in the Premier League’s PSR guidelines.

League organisers couldn’t punish the Foxes for an alleged financial breach after being relegated to the Championship before their financial year ended [Premier League].

This has come as a blow to the Toffees after being deducted points twice last season.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has slammed the rules and understands the frustration with Leicester’s exploitation of the rules.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “The rules aren’t working for anyone at the moment. Everton have got a right to feel frustrated and they will feel frustrated.

It is clear that Leicester have exploited a loophole and they’ve been smart so fair play to them for navigating themselves through that, it’s a big win for Leicester.

Unfortunately for Everton, who have already been damaged by these rules, there’s not a lot that they can do.

They haven’t spent the time in the Championship and that’s how Leicester have gotten around this, is my understanding.

Everton left frustrated by Leicester City PSR update

The Toffees were left damaged by the Premier League and PSR last season when they had points removed from their total on two occasions.

Frustration caused by this has only been worsened by the Foxes’ exploitation of the rules to avoid any punishment for a potential breach.

Despite discovering this loophole, there doesn’t appear to be any grounds for appeal for Everton despite having their own problems with PSR [Kieran Maguire].

Sean Dyche’s side will have to knuckle down and deal with this blow and look to get their season back on track after a poor start.
