Rangers will probably enter the loan market in the January transfer window, claims David Edgar.
The Heart and Hand podcast host was asked on X as to whether or not the club have the money to bring in new players in the future.
This comes after the club announced that they had incurred a £17.2million loss for the last financial year.
Edgar wrote: “Loans probably.”
Rangers could look to bring in a new defender and attacker in January
A defender on loan could address the backline, where injuries or suspensions might leave gaps, providing depth and quality to ensure defensive solidity.
With crucial matches on the cards in 2025, having a reliable backup or a direct starter can be decisive in maintaining their league position or progressing in cup competitions.
Similarly, an attacker is vital to rejuvenate the frontline and it could be a player who’s capable of playing in multiple positions.
Rangers need a player who can add dynamism, score goals or create opportunities, especially if current forwards are underperforming.
Integrating these loan players directly into the starting lineup is essential for immediate impact and they must prioritise that and not just sign players for squad depth.
It remains to be seen who comes through the door as plans will certainly be underway to bring in particular players.
In other Rangers news, a key first-team player is unlikely to be at Ibrox next season after a recent revelation.
