Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen reacted on social media after scoring the winner against Tottenham with an image of a devastated Ange Postecoglu.
The 19-year-old became the Cherrie’s youngest-ever scorer in their 1-0 victory (5 December).
The young centre-half took to social media to celebrate the victory, sparking plenty of interaction thanks to his humorous celebration. He marked the occasion with the Chill Guy meme, which caused widespread hilarity online.
Huijsen shared an image on his Instagram story featuring a split-screen of his celebration, the meme, and a picture of Ange Postecoglou with his hands on his head looking shocked.
The Spaniard captioned his own post showcasing the celebration with: “Just a chill evening under the lights…”
Huijsen’s recent posts have drawn attention from fellow footballers, with Joshua Zirkzee being the latest to react to the viral moment.
Bournemouth are the giant killers under Andoni Iraola
Andoni Iraola’s team leapfrogged Tottenham into ninth place, taking them to 21 points from their first 14 games. This win also marked their third victory over one of the traditional top six sides this season, with previous wins against Arsenal and Man City.
They are proving to be a young and exciting team, defending well against former teammate Dominic Solanke. The Englishman faced heavy criticism from Tottenham fans following his performance.
Their young defence includes Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez, who are 19, 22 and 21 respectively.
The goalscorer rightfully earned Man of the Match with 100% aerial duels won, 11 clearances and 100% of his ground duels won.
This performance will surely boost his position in the pecking order as has only made four starts this season.
Under Spanish manager Iraola, Bournemouth has brought entertainment to the Vitality Stadium. The team recorded a 3.31 xG (expected goals) against Spurs’ 0.58 xG [Fot Mob via Instagram].
XG is a metric that evaluates the quality of scoring opportunities. It considers factors such as shot location, type, and the player’s position. A higher XG value indicates a greater likelihood of scoring.
This is their third-highest xG in a Premier League game since 2016/17, and fans can expect more thrilling performances.
This performance could be a turning point for the team, and may even spell trouble for Spurs’ manager Postecoglou, who is under significant pressure amid suggestions he could be sacked if Tottenham remains in mid-table after Christmas.
In other news, Bournemouth are expected to entertain offers for Antoine Semenyo.
