Declan Rice sends message to Arsenal fans after big development

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has taken to social media to send a message to fans after their impressive 5-1 Champions League win over Sporting CP on Tuesday (November 26).

The 25-year-old made his return against the Portuguese champions after missing out on the starting eleven for their 3-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest with a knock.

Goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel, Bukayo Saka, and Leandro Trossard secured a comfortable win over the side that beat Pep Guardiola’s Man City 4-1 in their previous fixture.

Rice was at his best, providing the assist for Gabriel’s header and ending his game having won 100 per cent of his ground duels, completed 90 per cent of his attempted passes, and made two recoveries before being substituted in the 70th minute.

The defensive midfielder is the backbone of Mikel Arteta’s side, having started 10 of their 12 Premier League games of the season so far.

Arsenal appear to have found their way out of a rough patch, securing back-to-back victories after failing to win four of their previous five matches across all competitions.

Delighted to regain some fitness and get that winning feeling back, Rice took to Instagram to send a message to the Arsenal fans.

Arteta’s side could find themselves back in the title race this weekend with Man City and Liverpool facing off on Sunday (December 1).

They will have to beat a West Ham side high off a 2-0 win over Newcastle, however, as the two London clubs battle it on on Saturday (November 30).
