Rangers have confirmed their starting lineup for their Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock with Philippe Clement making three changes.
The Gers will face Killie on Wednesday at Ibrox with lineup announced for the fixture via the club’s official X account (4 December).
The Belgian has chosen to make three changes to his team that beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Sunday by bringing in Danilo, Mohamed Diomande and Leon Balogun.
Robin Propper has been taken out of the starting XI after a rather poor showing that saw him hooked before the end of play last time out.
Clement’s men are coming off the back of an impressive 4-1 victory over Nice in the Europa League and a lacklustre 1-0 win over St Johnstone.
Rangers have to win Kilmarnock to help remount their title challenge
While there have been times this season, particularly in the Europa League where the Gers have proven their dominance, their form in the Scottish Premiership hasn’t quite been up to scratch.
Kilmarnock are one of the teams that Rangers have been defeated by already this season with Derek McInnes’ men beating the Ibrox outfit 1-0 back in October.
Rangers are sitting third in the table and find themselves 11 points adrift of league leaders Celtic, which, for a team of their calibre, is way off the mark.
Clement’s future has been under plenty of scrutiny for some time now and unless he can turn things around and get his team firing again, it feels like it could be curtains for the Belgian sooner than he may think.
There have been some links regarding the 50-year-old and the Belgium national team role but at the moment, his future looks set to be in Scotland, unless he fails to pick things up, of course.
There’s no knowing how the game is going to pan out but if the Gers leave Ibrox with anything but a win, it’s hard to see how Clement’s job will still be intact.
In other Rangers news, a “stumbling block” has emerged in the Gers’ quest for the Scottish Premiership title.
