Gordon Duncan reacts to 'Interesting' Rangers team news from Ibrox

Gordon Duncan has reacted to the “interesting” starting line-up named by Philippe Clement to face Kilmarnock.

Danilo joins Hamza Igamane in Clement’s confirmed line-up for the Scottish Premiership contest on Wednesday night (4 December), making several changes with a majorly attacking setup.

Cyriel Dessers remains on the bench – a decision which appears to have pleased a considerable contingent of Gers fans.

“The interesting news is that Danilo plays upfront, but Igamane stays in the team,” Duncan said live on Sky Sports [4 December, 18:41].

“It’s the most attacking side we’ve seen in a while. It’s a massive night ahead at Ibrox.”

Rangers must assert dominance against Kilmarnock

Rangers simply have to set their stall out early on Wednesday. Kilmarnock have shown themselves to be no pushovers against Clement’s side this season already.

The players know the pressure – what used to be almost a banker, is now widely considered a potential banana skin in the league for each fixture.

The Light Blues peculiarly appear to know how to escape from the shackles when playing in Europe, yet struggle in league games with self-inflicted hurdles.

The decisive second-half own goal on Sunday (2 December) at St Johnstone was exactly what Rangers and Clement needed – to grind out an unglamorous win rather than ending up on the wrong end of a gritty encounter.

Gers have avoided defeat since 30 October when they were crucially beaten at Aberdeen, and if they can start well, they can create an Ibrox atmosphere which has its own excited foundations with fans having seen the line-up.
