Doctor: Everton player out with suspected Grade 1 injury expected to be fit v Ipswich Town

Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko is expected to recover from his injury to be fit for the Ipswich Town game on 19 October, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Ukraine international is likely out with a Grade 1 setback which is not understood to be too serious.

It initially began as a knock but is unlikely to be one that would keep him out of the game at Portman Road.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Mykolenko: “There is not much information on this from Dyche.

If it’s a Grade 1 injury, which it most likely is, I could definitely see him return after the break.

It is a small knock that became a strain, but is not understood to be particularly serious.

Sean Dyche will be delighted to have Vitalii Mykolenko back in contention for Everton

The 25-year-old has started five Premier League games this season and is the go-to option for Sean Dyche at left-back.

In his absence, Ashley Young has been playing there and while he has not been bad, Mykolenko is undoubtedly an upgrade.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Ukraine international will be ready to play the full 90 minutes for the Toffees on 19 October.

In other Everton news, Alan Myers has claimed that the club have now agreed a deal in principle to secure a new free agent signing.
