Everton midfielder James Garner is likely to be ruled out for a few more weeks, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Toffees are working on his fitness to get him back in action, but they have to be careful as it’s a long-term back problem.
The 23-year-old last played for Sean Dyche’s side on 6 October and has been nursing a back injury since then.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Garner: “What we do know is that he has a long-term back injury and got good news in late November.
“Assessing Dyche’s recent comments, it sounds like the club are working on his fitness right now after an extended layoff.
“With a long-term back injury, you have to be very methodical.
“I see him being ruled out for a few more weeks at least.“
Everton must be careful with James Garner’s workload
The Toffees must not rush Garner back into action as they risk aggravating his back and that would mean more weeks on the sidelines.
Currently, the priority should be to get him fit again and not worry about when he can play week in and week out.
Garner is 23 so his recovery should be faster but it’s already been longer than expected so the club cannot take risks.
In other Everton news, The Friedkin Group have made a significant change following the Toffees’ takeover.
