James Horncastle predicts TFG will spend big at Everton after he has seen at Roma

James Horncastle has tipped The Friedkin Group to spend “loads of money” at Everton.

Having kept tabs on the Friedkins’ efforts at Roma, the Serie A expert mooted the new owners to take a similar approach at Goodison Park.

However, The Athletic journalist warned the Toffees fans against TFG’s “noble intentions”, saying their spending often does not have much thought behind it.

“What I would say for Everton fans is, it feels like sometimes they [the Friedkins] have got more money than sense”, Horncastle said on BBC Radio 5’s Monday Night Club (23 December).

“They’ll spend loads of money with noble intentions. Whether there’s a plan behind it or a good strategy behind it, you’ll have to see.”
