Doctor: Player unlikely to need surgery next season as Rangers see bid accepted for new transfer

Rangers target and Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan is unlikely to need surgery next season despite two separate injuries, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while the bruise could’ve been very painful, the second one saw him recover relatively quickly and there’s nothing to suggest that further treatment will be needed.

This comes as Gers’ bid for the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder had been accepted [Fernando Serrano, 27 July], but the deal is now unlikely to go ahead as Jose Manuel Garcia claims he’s rejected a move to Ibrox.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

It sounds like it was two different injuries with the first being a significant contusion or bruise which can be very painful.

In the second one, he missed less than three weeks so it wasn’t a serious injury.

With that in mind, neither sounds like a red flag or something that requires surgery next season.”

Rangers must move on from Joan Jordan’s transfer pursuit

Jordan would have been a valuable addition to Gers due to his experience and skill set.

As a two-time Europa League winner with Sevilla, he possesses the winning mentality and technical ability that could have bolstered Rangers’ midfield.

However, since Jordan does not seem interested in moving to Ibrox, the club must move on and focus on other targets.

It’s crucial for Gers to bring in players who are fully committed to the club’s project and ambitions.

In other Rangers news, a £3million development has emerged as Gers want to secure the services of Lawrence Shankland.
