Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo is not expected to return to training for the next five weeks due to his hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that it is likely a Grade 3 hamstring rupture that will keep him out for two months.
The Wales international picked up the setback in the Old Firm derby defeat against Celtic at the start of September.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Matondo suffered a hamstring injury at the start of September and it’s one said to keep him out for a couple of months.
“This is likely a Grade 3 out of 4 hamstring rupture.
“A full tear is typically 10+ weeks out and that does not seem to be the case here.
“Best case, he would return to team training in five weeks or so.“
Rangers will be missing Rabbi Matondo’s impact in the final third
Matondo wasn’t a regular starter last season but seemed to be making a case to be picked regularly in this campaign.
Prior to his injury, he had two goals and two assists from four league games, with just two of them being starts.
Philippe Clement will undoubtedly be missing his influence in the final third and will be hoping to have him back sooner rather than later.
In other Rangers news, multiple meetings have been held by the club as a behind-the-scenes appointment is on the cards.
