Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes in any game until after the next international break, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that hamstring setbacks are prone to re-injury, so it would make sense to air on the side of caution.
It’s understood that he will be eased back in and perhaps get games off the bench before he gets himself ready to play 90 minutes regularly.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Fitness levels, rhythm and confidence are very sensitive so I’d expect him to be eased in.
“He’s been out with a hamstring injury and those are notoriously sensitive and prone to re-injury.
“I do not see him playing the full 90 minutes for the first few games back and it’s perhaps more likely after the international break.“
Rabbi Matondo could make a difference for Rangers
The Wales international can offer a goal-scoring threat on either flank and also offers an option on the counter-attack given his blistering pace.
He started the season well, scoring two and assisting as many in four league games so it goes without saying that Philippe Clement will be missing his services in the final third.
Hopefully, his injury woes are behind him soon and he can be a difference-maker for Gers in the remaining games this season.
In other Rangers news, sources have issued an update as a senior figure has quit the club voluntarily.
