Tottenham are unlikely to be dissuaded from signing Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri based on his injury record, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while they will consider how the 27-year-old will adapt to life in the Premier League, he has been relatively fit in recent seasons and should not take time to hit the ground running.

Vamos Mi Sevilla (6 June) reported that the North London club were in advanced talks to sign the Morocco international who’s valued at £21.2million

Discussing the state of play with En-Nesyri exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Nothing in his injury history looks out of the norm and his last two seasons have been quite good, on balance.

There’s always an adaptation to Premier League football and nothing about his history says he will take longer physically than most.

At a certain age, the body starts to slow down so that could be a factor if he was close to 30, which he is not, but apart from that, there’s nothing that should dissuade Spurs purely from a fitness standpoint.

Tottenham must consider alternatives to Youssef En-Nesyri

While he has shown quality in La Liga, there are concerns about his ability to adapt to the Premier League’s physicality and pace.

His goalscoring record, while respectable, is not exceptional and Spurs need a more prolific striker to fill the void left by Harry Kane.

He’s also not someone who strengthens the playing eleven and there are just too many risks at this point.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one of the best in the world.

Considering the reported £21.2million price tag, the Lilywhites should explore more proven and versatile options in the market.

In other Tottenham news, a claim has emerged on Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey undergoing his Spurs medical ahead of a potential transfer.
