Doctor: Staff may have to go extra mile as Rangers agree deal for another new transfer

The Rangers staff may have to go the extra mile to help Hamza Igamane adapt to conditions in Glasgow, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as the AS FAR forward has not played outside Morocco, it is going to be difficult for him to adjust to a different environment at the age of 21.

The Fourth Official reported on 20 June that the Moroccan has agreed on a four-year deal at Ibrox and will join for a £1.5million fee.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

He has not played outside Morocco and that’s going to be a huge factor in whether or not the transfer is a success. It certainly can have a major impact both physically and mentally.

Physically because it’s a different league with different intensity, a much colder climate and mentally as he’s away from his comfort zone, different weather, away from family, etc.

“You try to give as much support as you can for a player to support their transition to a new environment while making their fitness adaptation as methodical as possible but this one may need the staff going the extra mile.

Rangers have been shrewd with their transfer business this summer

Igamane is set to be the fifth signing for the club this summer as they have moved pretty quickly to get deals done.

Oscar Cortes, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala and Connor Barron have already joined and the 21-year-old will follow them through the door.

The club appear to be backing Philippe Clement well in the January window and the onus is now on him to deliver good results.

In other Rangers news, a first-team player is close to agreeing on personal terms with another Ibrox exit on the cards this summer.
