Everton midfielder James Garner faces weeks on the sidelines with a back injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that surgery cannot be ruled out, at this stage, and it could be one among a number of possibilities in terms of the severity.
Sean Dyche revealed at the end of October that Garner’s injury was a bad one and that he’s sure he would be out of action for a month.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Garner: “This could be a number of things based on Dyche’s description of severity.
“It could be something with the disc, a vertebral fracture and multiple other options.
“Best case would be a mild disc issue while worst case would be a significant structural issue that requires surgery – which cannot be ruled out at this point as he is out for a few weeks.“
James Garner has barely featured for Everton this season
After playing in all but one league game last season, the 23-year-old has barely featured this time around.
Due to his fitness issues, Garner has been restricted to just the four league apperances and 251 minutes of action on the field of play.
His recent injury is expected to keep him out close to the new year and it’s still unclear if he will be fit before the end of December.
In other Everton news, Liverpool are now in the mix to sign a Toffees star as a shocking transfer development has emerged.
