Tottenham attacker Richarlison seems to be out for months with a potential Grade 4 hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he has been caught in a vicious cycle in terms of his fitness and this is yet another lengthy setback.
Once he’s ready to return to training, the focus will be on increasing his strength and conditioning before he will be allowed to play first-team football.
Discussing the state of play with Richarlison exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.
“This sounds like a Grade 3 or 4 hamstring injury which would mean months away,” he said.
“Unfortunately, he looks to be caught in a vicious injury cycle at the moment.
“His training return will be one of methodically ramping up his strength and conditioning along with sport-specific activities and then gradually getting him game minutes.“
Richarlison will next play for Tottenham in 2025
Last season, the Brazil international played 28 league games for Spurs and it seemed that he had overcome his fitness issues.
However, this season, things have been extremely tough for him and he’s only managed to play 88 Premier League minutes.
He will now not play again for Spurs this year and it remains to be seen if he can return by January or February.
