Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall is still some way from being at 100 per cent after his injury setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the 18-year-old featuring for 66 minutes in the 3-2 loss against Galatasaray on 7 November was a positive but not indicative of him being in an optimum condition.
It does seem unlikely that the Sweden international will be able to play the full game when Spurs play host to Ipswich Town on Sunday, 10 November.
Discussing the state of play with Bergvall exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.
“He won’t truly be at 100 per cent until he is able to play some matches and build up fitness,” he said.
“He did play over an hour in mid-week so that was a positive but I’m still not convinced he can play the full 90 minutes just yet.
“In October, for instance, he played just two games and did not play 90 minutes on either occasion.“
Lucas Bergvall has barely featured for Tottenham in the Premier League
The Sweden international started the Europa League game but was withdrawn in the second period for Dominic Solanke.
However, he has found game time hard to come by in the Premier League, making just five appearances off the bench which amounted to a meagre 46 minutes.
He has made four starts in Europe so it’s perhaps Ange Postecoglou’s way of getting him acquainted with his new teammates as he moved to North London this summer from Djurgarden.
In other Tottenham news, Daniel Levy is to front transfer talks for Lille midfielder Angel Gomes.
