Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey may have issues clearing his medical amid links to Tottenham this summer, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as he has suffered multiple injuries over the last 12 months it could impact his medical if certain things have not healed as expected.
This comes after the Telegraph reported on 20 May that Spurs, along with Newcastle and Liverpool are admirers of the 23-year-old.
Discussing the state of play with Ramsey exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“He has suffered varying injury concerns over the past 12 months and they’ve all been different kinds of setbacks.
“If I recall correctly, he had a setback with his toe during rehab which caused the extended missed time and the club were being conservative with his return to not endanger him.
“The injuries may play a part in a medical if some outlier is found or things haven’t healed well.
“Considering his age, there’s certainly considerable time for him to recover, keep developing physically and have these issues in the rearview.“
Tottenham may want to avoid taking a gamble on Jacob Ramsey
Spurs should avoid signing Ramsey from Aston Villa due to his recent fitness issues and high transfer cost.
The 23-year-old has been plagued by injuries, missing significant playing time this past season, which raises concerns about his long-term durability.
Additionally, Villa are unlikely to sell him on the cheap, making him a risky investment given his injury history.
Furthermore, Ramsey has expressed no desire to leave Villa, which could complicate negotiations and make the deal even more expensive.
Unlike Spurs, he will have Champions League football at Villa and may decide to stay on for another year.
