Newcastle United are among the clubs keen on a potential move for Euro 2024 hero Georges Mikautadze, sources have told Football Insider.
The Magpies are interested in the 23-year-old alongside European sides Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Monaco, Lyon and Marseille.
Georgia international star Mikautadze is now a Metz player after they took up the option to make his loan from Ajax permanent.
However, is it believed they will sell at around €25million (£21.1million) this summer following their relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2023-24 campaign
Metz president Bernard Serin has given an exclusive mandate to FIFA agent Willie McKay to speak to interested clubs about Mikautadze.
Mikautadze couldn’t prevent relegation in a two-legged playoff against Saint-Etienne earlier this month but has shone for Georgia at the European Championships in Germany.

The forward has hit three goals and notched one assist in three group games, helping his nation qualify for the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time.
Newcastle are one of multiple top sides across Europe considering a swoop for the French-born ace following his exploits in Germany.
Mikautadze joined Metz on loan in January and they have now activated a purchase option to return him permanently.
He hit 14 goals in 22 games for the French side in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.
The Lyon-born star has now scored 13 goals in 28 caps for Georgia, who will play Spain in the Round of 16 at the Euros on Sunday (30 June).
