According to Steinberg, should Chelsea miss out on Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, it remains to be seen whether or not they will make Calvert-Lewin an option.

A keyword that Steinberg used in his post is “currently”. On deadline day, things can change very quickly.

For now, it looks as though Calvert-Lewin will remain at Goodison Park. However, should Chelsea become desperate as the day goes on, that could quickly change.

The Blues are on the hunt for a new striker at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, depending on which way the transfer dominoes fall, Chelsea could end up eyeing a move for Calvert-Lewin.

Losing the striker this late on in the transfer window would be a disaster for Dyche. The club do not have any time to replace Calvert-Lewin, which would leave them incredibly short up front.
