Newcastle United supporters believe that it’s now a “matter of time” until Eddie Howe loses his job at St. James’ Park after his comments about the future of his team.
During the pre-Liverpool match press conference Howe discussed his squad’s progress and the lack of transfers that the club have made in recent times.
He said, “We haven’t had a huge turnover of players and that’s a slight concern. But if you bring too many players in, that can have a negative impact in terms of upheaval of the team and relationships not forming.
“You can keep that staleness away in various ways. Innovation from us in terms of the team, training, team-building, and different things to make sure the players are not coming into the same environment.”
The Magpies failed to secure their top targets during the summer transfer window as their pursuit of Marc Guehi resulted in them being empty-handed as tension rose between Howe and sporting director Paul Mitchell.
Newcastle fans believe it’s a matter of time before Eddie Howe is sacked
The pressure is mounting on Howe to improve Newcastle’s fortunes this season, but the Toon Army believes that his “stale” comments are a sign that he could be on the way out.
Other supporters have claimed that some of the blame for their current circumstances falls on Howe himself for being “too sentimental” and for only having “one formation and one style of play.”
