Former AS Roma and Fiorentina star Francesco Graziani believes Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could be the key to solving Juventus’ attacking woes, Soccernet.ng reports.
Juventus have struggled to get the best out of star forward Dusan Vlahovic this season, and new coach Thiago Motta is reportedly seeking a solution as Vlahovic continues to underperform.
Graziani, who was the Serie A top scorer in 1977, argues that even elite strikers like Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema would find it difficult to succeed in the current Juventus system.
The 71-year-old retired forward is, however, convinced that Osimhen’s all-action style makes him the ideal man to lead the attack for the Turin giants.
In quotes relayed by Tuttojuve, Graziani said: “The team doesn’t help Vlahovic. If you put Lewandowski or Benzema there, they struggle anyway. Osimhen wouldn’t struggle because he’s someone who can do the department on his own, he’s one of the best strikers in the world.”
Recent reports have linked Juventus with a potential move for Osimhen as a replacement for the misfiring Vlahovic.
However, a deal with Napoli could prove complicated, given the rivalry between the two Italian clubs and Osimhen’s current loan to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Despite these hurdles, many believe Osimhen could thrive in Turin, offering the versatility and self-sufficiency that Vlahovic has been unable to provide.
Juventus have also been linked with other options, including Lille’s Jonathan David, but Graziani insists Osimhen is the perfect fit for Juventus’ attack.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is finding his form again at Galatasaray, where he continues to make an impact.
The Nigerian forward helped Galatasaray defeat Greek side PAOK 3-1 in the first round of the UEFA Europa League, although his first official goal for the Turkish club was eventually recorded as an own goal by PAOK’s Abdul Rahman Baba.
