Everton, Tottenham and Leicester are all in the race to secure the services of Reims midfielder Amir Richardson, according to Get Football News France.
The news outlet reported on 7 August that the French side are demanding a little over £10million for the 22-year-old Morocco international before the 30 August deadline.
Foot Mercato reported on 4 August that Spurs have closely watched Richardson at the Olympics while L’Equipe claim that the Toffees are also keen on bringing the midfielder to Goodison Park.
Amir Richardson would be a solid signing for Everton
Richardson’s versatility as a midfielder would add depth and flexibility to the Toffees squad.
He can play in a variety of positions, including central midfield and as a defensive midfielder, providing Everton with options to adapt their tactics based on the opposition.
The 22-year-old’s technical ability and vision on the pitch would enhance the midfield.
His passing range and ability to control the tempo of the game could help Sean Dyche’s side dictate play more effectively.
Moreover, his defensive capabilities would add stability to the Toffees in the centre of the pitch, helping to protect the backline.
With Amadou Onana gone, Dyche will want an enforcer in the middle of the park and Richardson would be a solid acquisition and wouldn’t be expensive either.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has issued an update as the Toffees now want to sign a £25m-rated ‘Explosive’ central midfielder.
