Everton could help Napoli fund Mason Greenwood move with transfer push - report

Everton want to sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom this summer and that could fund their move for Mason Greenwood, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Writing on their website (15 July), the Italian news outlet reports that the Toffees are keen on the Denmark international and Napoli would be open to a sale for around £25million.

It’s claimed that should they sell him they will use that money to put forward an offer for Manchester United outcast Greenwood.

Everton ready for new transfer developments

Sean Dyche has made the attacking department a priority area to strengthen this summer, and rightly so.

The Toffees only scored more goals than relegated Burnley and Sheffield United last season, and the expectation is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be leaving too [TBR, 13 July] to avoid losing him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

Arnaut Danjuma has also left at the end of his loan, but the club have brought in Iliman Ndiaye permanently and re-signed Jack Harrison on loan, however more is needed.

Lindstrom is a talented international who is capable of playing across the frontline, and with Napoli open to a sale and even having a replacement eyed up, it suggests a deal is there to be done.

It won’t be cheap, but after agreeing an £18m fee for Jaden Philogene before he moved to Aston Villa and then receiving £50m for Amadou Onana, the funds are there to get it over the line if they want to.
