Everton duo who've been in Dyche plans could look for January loan exits - report

Everton duo Harrison Armstrong and Roman Dixon are expected to seek loan moves in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Toffees pair has made three first-team appearances each this season but could leave the Blues temporarily in the winter as long as there’s no major injury crisis, as per The Athletic’s website on 22 November.

Dyche is said to believe a loan stint away from Goodison Park would be ideal for their development, with the Merseyside-based club harbouring “high hopes” for Armstrong in particular.

Dyche is firm on his stance that loan spells are the best way for youngsters coming through teams in the Premier League to develop. While that is not always true, he is right about Armstrong and Dixon on this occasion.

There is no doubt that both players will struggle for playing time on Merseyside in the second half of the season after Everton crashed out of the EFL Cup.

Armstrong, who has played just a single minute in the league, is behind five players, including Orel Mangala, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye in the pecking order.

The 17-year-old will certainly not be short of options in January, having attracted interest from clubs in the Championship and League One [Liverpool Echo].

Dixon, 19, started in the Toffees’ 4-0 loss to Tottenham on 24 August, but will be left on the fringes of the squad once Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson return to action.

It would, therefore, make sense for him to go out on loan and get regular playing time under his belt.
