Everton failing to reach an internal contract agreement with Jarrad Branthwaite will not have an impact on the defender’s valuation, according to Give Me Sport.

The news outlet reported online (10 September) that there has been speculation over the Toffees looking to reward the England international with an improved deal at Goodison Park.

Branthwaite has just less than three years left on his £35,000-per-week Everton contract.

Real Madrid are circling for the centre-back, who has a “strong chance” of completing a Goodison Park exit in 2025.

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite to quit Goodison Park?

Supporters would have been bored of reading about Branthwaite’s long-term future over the summer.

The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from the club, with Manchester United making multiple bids for his services.

The Toffees were able to keep hold of him past the transfer deadline, and although he is yet to feature this season, that could be a huge boost for Sean Dyche’s side, who so far look as if they will once again be in a relegation dogfight.

However, just a matter of days after the transfer window closing, speculation over the defender’s future is once again swirling.

This uncertainty won’t be positive for anybody involved in the situation. Therefore, if it continues, Everton might be wise to cash in on Branthwaite next summer.

If the Englishman isn’t going to agree fresh terms at Goodison Park then Everton are better off cashing in and reinvesting the money.

In other Everton news, takeover progress has been mooted behind the scenes after a club-record deal was agreed at Goodison Park.
