Everton fans rage at James Tarkowski after 'disgraceful' twist

Everton fans have blasted captain James Tarkowski for a ‘lack of standards’ following his latest comments about the club’s disappointing start to the season.

The 31-year-old has played every Premier League minute for the Merseyside club so far this season as they sit in 16th with just 10 points from their opening 11 games.

Alongside Jarred Branthwaite, Tarkowski has been part of a defensive partnership that have conceded just five goals in their last seven league games.

Speaking after their 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers West Ham on Saturday (November 9), Tarkowski insisted things were looking up for Everton.

“We’re building on good basics. Last week (at Southampton) was disappointing but I thought we were very very close to taking three points there.

“It was disappointing last week but we’ve had one loss in seven, and a few clean sheets in there and a few goals.”

After losing their first five league games, Sean Dyche’s side have struggled to turn draws into wins, sharing the points in four of their last seven.

Frustrated by the situation at the club, Everton fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to hit out at their captain over his latest comments.
