Everton do not want to terminate the loan deal of Jack Harrison early, according to Harry Watkinson.
The TEAMtalk journalist reported via his personal X account (3 December) that due to the size of the Toffees’ squad, they have “no intentions” of allowing him to leave in January.
The Toffees have recently been linked with making his stay permanent but, due to their impending takeover, a decision is yet to be made [The Athletic, 29 November].
Everton are better off keeping Jack Harrison within their ranks
It’s not hard to tell that the 2024/25 season has been a fairly lacklustre one for all those involved with the Merseyside outfit this season.
Some of the signings they made in summer have failed to work out and others are still finding their feet despite already being quite deep into the season.
While Harrison’s form this season has left a lot to be desired, both he and Jesper Lindstrom have been fighting for the same starting spot this season with the pair making one another work harder to try and get a spot in the team.
Recently, the Napoli loanee has been the one favoured but for the vast majority of the season, it has been Harrison’s to lose.
Although a decision still needs to be made about whether Everton want to keep him permanently, at the moment, it feels like the best thing for both parties is to keep him at Goodison Park for extra support if and when needed.
In other Everton news, a super computer has made a new prediction about the chances of the Toffees being relegated.
