One-time Bundesliga winner sends advice to Osimhen on how to score more goals

Former Turkey and Galatasaray defender, Ümit Davala, has revealed a key secret to how Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, can score more goals, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli in September, and has been a bargain for them, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in twelve games for Galatasaray.

Okan Buruk’s side have had a brilliant start to the season, and are currently unbeaten in the league, winning thirteen games and drawing two. However, they’ve faced a slight dip in form, winning just one of their last three games.

Ümit Davala, who donned the Galatasaray colours between 1996 and 2001, alongside another loan spell in 2003, revealed Galatasaray have formed a terrible habit of making games harder for themselves, following their 2-2 draw against Eyüpspor.

“There are incredible statistics. If those who didn’t watch the match looked, they would think that the match ended 5-0, 6-0. Galatasaray made an easy match difficult again,” the three-time Turkish Super Lïg winner said in quotes revealed by Haber Sari Kirmizi.

In the game against Eyüpspor, Osimhen had just one of his six shots hit the target, a poor return by his standards. Davala adviced the Super Eagles will be able to score more goals if he remains level-headed during games.

“Everyone says, ‘If Osimhen is there, there is no problem’. He already feels that. If he had stayed a little calmer during the match, I think he could have evaluated these positions. We already see that he has taken on a lot of responsibility,” the one-time Bundesliga winner concluded.

Despite Galatasaray’s slight dip in form, they’re on strong grounds domestically, and in Europe. They’re top of the Turkish Super Lïg table, and are on course to qualify to the next round of the UEFA Europa League.
